Abstract

In October 2023, Singkawang Municipality has year on year (yoy) inflation of 2.53 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.89.

Inflation occurs due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for all expenditure groups. The expenditure groups that experienced successive index increases from the highest were the food, beverage and tobacco groups by 4.37 percent; health group at 4.34 percent; personal care and other services group at 3.01 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.63 percent; education group at 1.94 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.78 percent; clothing and footwear group at 1.08 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 1.04 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.81 percent; transportation group at 0.77 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.32 percent.

The month to month (mtm) deflation rate in October 2023 was 0.02 percent and the year to date (ytd) inflation rate in October 2023 was 1.57 percent.
