Singkawang Municipality has a year-on-year inflation in August 2023 was 4,57 percent

In August 2023, Singkawang City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.57 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.11.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in nine expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced an increase in index successively from the highest was the transportation group at 13.54 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group at 6.25 percent; health group at 5.44 percent; personal care and other services group at 3.35 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 3.18 percent; education group at 1.94 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 1.44 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.16 percent; and the clothing and footwear group at 0.89 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were the information, communication and financial services group by 0.15 percent and the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.01 percent.

The month to month (mtm) inflation rate for August 2023 was 0.09 percent and the year to date (ytd) inflation rate for August 2023 was 1.77 percent.
