Abstract

The Singkawang City Work Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in 2018 was 61.07 percent with a workforce of 95,504. This figure decreased by 2.95 points compared to TPAK in August 2017 at 64.02 percent.
The Singkawang City Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2018 was 7.88 percent or the number of unemployed people was 7,530.
Labor absorption is dominated by Community, Social and Individual Services sectors (27.32%), Trade, Restaurants and Accommodation Services (24.38%), and Agriculture, Plantation, Forestry, Hunting and Fisheries sectors (21.24) %).
Sakernas in August 2018 also showed the percentage of formal workers was 62.62 percent, while informal workers were 37.38 percent. While the situation in August 2017 the percentage of formal workers was 56.16 percent and informal workers were 43.84 percent.
