Abstract

The Singkawang City Work Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in 2017 amounted to 64.02 percent with a workforce of 98,045 people. This figure is greater or up 6.61 points compared to TPAK in August 2015 at 57.41 percent
The Singkawang City Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2017 was 8.08 percent or the number of unemployed persons was 7,922
Labor absorption is dominated by the Community, Social and Individual Services sector (28.52%), Agriculture, Plantation, Forestry, Hunting and Fisheries (21.94%), and the Trade, Restaurants and Accommodation Services sectors (20.79%)
Sakernas in August 2017 also showed the percentage of formal workers was 56.16 percent, while informal workers were 43.84 percent. While the situation in August 2015 the percentage of formal workers was 43.37 percent and informal workers were 56.63 percent.
