BRS JULY 2018 CONSUMER PRICE INDEX

CITY OF SINGKAWANG

(August 1, 2018)

• In July 2018 there was inflation of 0.85 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 137.10. Another city in West Kalimantan Province, Pontianak, experienced inflation of 0.44 percent with CPI of 145.08.

• This month's inflation was due to an increase in index in six types of expenditure groups and a decrease in index in one type of expenditure group. Expenditure groups that experienced an increase in index were foodstuffs by 2.13 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.72 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.15 percent; clothing by 2.63 percent; health by 0.01 percent; and education, recreation and sports by 0.51 percent. Expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in index were the transport, communication and financial services group by 0.41 percent.

• The July 2018 calendar year inflation rate of 3.78 percent.

• Inflation "Year on Year" (July 2018 against July 2017) Kota Singkawang at 5.40 percent.

• Of 82 cities in Indonesia, inflation of Singkawang City is ranked 10th.
