Abstract

In February 2022, Singkawang City experienced inflation of 0.15 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.61.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for the five expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced an increase in the index consecutively from the highest was the health group at 2.05 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.85 percent; transportation group by 0.44 percent; personal care group by 0.26 percent; and housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decline in the index was the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the clothing and footwear group; information, communication, and financial services group; recreation, sports, and cultural groups; the education group and the food and beverage/restaurant provider group experienced very small index changes so that they did not contribute significantly to inflation.

The inflation rate for the calendar year up to February 2022 is 0.81 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2022 to February 2021) is 3.15 percent.
