Abstract

Consumer Price Index (CPI) publication provide commodity and its data price. Data used to calculate consumer price index is the primary data, including data collected directly by BPS periodically, mostly is a weekly basis, while others are bi-weekly and monthly data. CPI usability among others are: as a barometer of the exchange rate, or as an indicator of inflation; as the basis for fixing / adjusting the salaries and wages of employees; measuring changes in consumer prices. In general, the calculation of CPI is useful as an indicator to determine the level of developments in the domestic and simultaneously measure the level of inflation that occurred every month.
