SINGKAWANG MUNICIPALITY

·        In October 2018 there was a deflation of 0.68 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 136.20. Another city in West Kalimantan Province namely Pontianak City experienced a deflation of 0.29 percent with an CPI of 143.34.

·        This month's deflation occurred due to a decrease in the index in two types of expenditure groups and an increase in the index in five types of expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the foodstuffs group by 3.03 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services by 0.05 percent. Expenditures that experienced an increase in index were processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.43 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.30 percent; clothing by 0.39 percent; health by 0.02 percent; and education, recreation and sports by 0.01 percent.

·        October 2018 calendar year inflation rate of 3.10 percent.

·       "Year on Year" inflation (October 2018 against October 2017) Singkawang City at 3.61 percent.

·      Out of 82 cities in Indonesia, inflation in Singkawang City is ranked 80th.
