BRS CONSUMER PRICE INDEX AUGUST 2018
SINGKAWANG MUNICIPALITY

• In August 2018 there was an inflation of 0.04 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 137.15. Other cities in the province of West Kalimantan, namely the City of Pontianak experienced a deflation of 0.64 percent with a CPI of 144.15.
• This month inflation occurred due to an increase in the index in five types of expenditure groups and a decrease in the index in two types of expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced an increase in the index was the foodstuff group of 0.58 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.04 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.16 percent; health by 0.19 percent; and education, recreation and sports by 0.09 percent. The expenditure group that experienced a decline in the index was the clothing group by 0.16 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services at 1.34 percent.
• The inflation rate for August 2018 calendar year was 3.82 percent.
• Inflation "Year on Year" (August 2018 to August 2017) Singkawang City is 5.25 percent.
• Of 82 cities in Indonesia, Singkawang City inflation was ranked 26th.
