March 2017, Singkawang City deflation 0.13.

In March 2017 there was a deflation of 0.13 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 127.83. Two cities in West Kalimantan Province, namely Pontianak and Singkawang are both experiencing deflation. In March, the city of Pontianak experienced deflation of 0.26 percent with CPI of 137.38.
This month's deflation occurred due to the decrease of index in 3 (three) types of expenditure group and decreasing index in 4 (four) types of expenditure group. The group that experienced the index decline were foodstuffs by -1.08 percent; Education, recreation and sports groups by -0.02 percent; And transport, communications and financial services group at -1.48 percent. Groups that experienced an increase in index were the food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.46 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 1.01 percent; Clothing group by 0.67 percent; And the health group by 0.02 percent.
The inflation rate for the calendar year of March 2017 was 1.82 percent.
